Early Birds is situated in a spacious, detached house which is full of charm and homely character. We place emphasis on learning through play in a homely atmosphere where children can develop a positive and confident attitude towards learning.
Our purpose designed Baby Unit for our Chicks aged 0-15 months, to the rear of the main building, offers a calm, secure and loving atmosphere.
Ducklings, aged 15 months to 2 years are offered more space to develop their skills in the downstairs of the house. Days are planned to give balance and provide opportunities to participate in stimulating activities such as sand and water play, baking, construction and jigsaws.
Robins, aged 2-3 years engage in imaginative play and music making amongst many other activities to encourage new discoveries and cognitive development. Rest times with the Ducklings ensure children stay happy and get the most out of their time at Early Birds.
Owls, aged 3-5 years participate in our 'Early Learning through play' programme, which addresses all six areas of learning set out by Ofsted and gives children the very best possible start for school. Having four rooms upstairs between which to explore, their activities can be structured to offer the very best early learning opportunities.
Staff are very carefully selected not only on the basis of their qualifications and experience, but also on their dedication, empathy and hands-on ability with the children and babies. Claire Botham, owner, has two young children of her own and draws on this experience to offer the very best in childcare.
All food is freshly prepared on the premises and we take great pride in offering highly nutritious and tasty meals.
Weekly swimming lessons are offered to Owls, where they have exclusive use of a local pool, becoming confident in the water whilst having fun.
