The City Nursery in Edinburgh and Little City Nursery are an independent Nursery Company who have been operating in Edinburgh since 1998. The City Nursery and Little City Nursery are purpose built nurseries, within 200m of each other, in the Morningside/Greenbank area of Edinburgh.
Our aim is to provide a high quality, safe and nurturing environment to enable our children to be cared for and develop in the best possible surroundings.
All our staff have, or are working towards, their Nursery Nurse qualification and our Managers also have, or are working towards a Nursery Management qualification. Each Nursery has a Manager and Deputy Manager with a Room Supervisor for each age group. We work in Partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council to provide the pre-school education curriculum.
Little City Nursery in Edinburgh has been established with the needs of children aged 0-2 in mind. The children then graduate to City Nursery just along the road for ages 2-5 years.
Little City cares for the children in 4 groups 0-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months and 18-24 months. In this way the children have key workers, facilities, toys etc specifically for their age and stage of development. City has separate play rooms for 2-3 years and 3-5 years for the same reasons.
Preschool children of all age groups from both Nurseries come together on occasion to allow siblings to play/snack together and to encourage social skills amongst all the children.
Both Nurseries have outdoor garden play areas, sleep/rest rooms, wet play areas and fully equipped kitchen facilities to provide nutritious lunches and snacks. Little City has a state of the art Sensory room incorporating interactive fibre optics, bubble tubes, light displays and sensory toys for both a stimulating or soothing experience for even the very young.
City also has a sensory room more suited for older children and has a computer suite for educational and play use. Our pet corner teaches children responsibility and care and we have regular visits from, for example, our dance teacher, sports coach and music teacher.

Opening Times: We are open all year with the exception of the 2 public holidays at Christmas and New Year. We open at 7.30am and close at 6.00pm.
Pricing: The following nursery fees are valid from 1st April 2008
1. Morning Session (includes lunch and snack)
Under 2 years: £22.00
Over 2 years: £20.00
2. Afternoon Session (includes snack)
Under 2 years: £19.50
Over 2 years: £17.50
3. Full day (includes lunch and snacks)
Under 2 years: £41.50
Over 2 years: £37.50
4. Extra Sessions
Extra hours will be charged at our hourly child care rates of £4.25 per hour (available between 12.00pm - 2.00pm).
5. Discounts
Full time children will receive a 5% discount on the overall nursery fee.
Families with two or more children-each child using five sessions or more per week will receive a 5% discount for the eldest child.
Morning sessions are 7.30am - 1.00pm
Afternoon sessions are 1.00pm - 6.00pm
Fullday 7.30am - 6.00pm
