Welcome to Chantreyland Nursery!
Chantreyland Nursery is open Monday to Friday, 8.00am till 6.00pm. We are open 52 weeks of the year, closing on all bank holidays. Full day sessions are available.

Funding for 3 & 4 year olds
The nursery is registered and inspected by Ofsted, for the quality of care and education offered. The nursery meets the National Standards set by the Department of Education; therefore parents are able to access the Nursery Education Funding for three and four year olds.

Surrounding Area
In the nursery's vicinity there are no high voltage electricity cables or transformers and as we are away from all main traffic routes we have very little air pollution from vehicles.

Nursery Security
The nursery has a security system in place. When you arrive please ring the bell and state clearly your name, you will only be allowed in once staff have confirmed who you are.

Parents As Partners
Parents are welcomed as partners to the process of child care, play and education and are crucial to successful learning in the nursery. We are a very family oriented nursery and form close relationships with all our parents, children and staff.

Equal Opportunities
The staff team recognise and respect people's differences. The nursery curriculum and activities aim to represent diversity.

High Quality Child Care
We have a high staff:children ratio, above that required in school classrooms and the National Standards. All of our staff are qualified to at least a Level 2 standard and are given the opportunity to work towards a Level 3. It is our policy to have all staff trained in Child First Aid and Basic Food Hygiene.

Nursery Meals
Meals provided are home cooked on-site. The menus are nutritious and varied so that children experience a range of tastes. There is always a vegetarian or fish option, as well as meat. Milk, water and juices are provided daily. We aim to make meals a relaxed social occasion for the children and good manners are encouraged at all times.

Curriculum
Daily activities are provided in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage throughout the nursery.

Baby Room 6 months - 2years
In the baby room babies have the opportunity to explore, investigate or play with a variety of age appropriate equipment, which also includes sensory and malleable play. Children have the opportunity to play outside in the secure play area and garden which the children access daily...weather permitted. Hygiene is of particular importance to these very young children; therefore we do operate a strict no outdoor shoe policy in the baby room. To prevent the spread of infection toys are cleaned and sanitised on a strict cleaning rota.

Toddler Room 2 - 3 years
In Toddler room we experiment with a range of activities such as art and craft, water, sand, play dough and role play. They enjoy daily story time and singing session including music and movement.

Pre-school 3 - 4 years
In pre-school room the children work in a number of ways that support their stage of development and foster independence. Children have the opportunity to cook for themselves, bake and prepare foods from different cultures to learn about diversity. Phonics to help children recognise letter names and sounds; this will help them when they move into school reception. The pre-school children have daily access to the computer providing opportunity to develop their I.T skills.

Outings and Visits
Regular outings to the park animal centre are popular. We also regularly access the library and choose some books to look at. We also arrange trips to the adjoining farm in our local park and receive visits from the police and fire service- which the children really enjoy!

Special Occassions
We are a very family oriented nursery and we like to have a close bond with all our staff and families. We have social occassions for all our families, such as a garden party, a Christmas nativity and parent's evenings to keep in touch with parents. We also have a photographer to visit who will take professional photographs of your child.
