Edgmond Owls nursery and pre-school, which also provides breakfast, holiday and out of school clubs for youngsters, is a not-for-profit charity, well established in the village and was founded more than 35 years ago.
Late last year the Owls moved from the village's cricket pavilion to a brand new, purpose-built site at the nearby primary school and this has been welcomed by the community, parents and children.
The move to the site at St Peter's School has enabled us to build and improve and has allowed us to provide what is now an extensive range of high quality childcare services.
We enjoy close ties with the primary school but welcome all children irrespective of where they live or what school they will eventually attend.
Edgmond Owls offers an outstanding setting with exemplary childcare.
It aims to provide an environment which inspires children to learn and be independent whilst giving a welcoming, safe, secure and stimulating place to be.
Those involved with the charity encourage youngsters to reach their full potential and recognise and value what each child brings regardless of age, race, gender, class or ability.
We encourage fun and friendship, believing firmly that children learn better through play.
Edgmond Owls offers care for children aged 2 to 11 and is open from 7.45am to 6.00pm.
Pre-school children aged three and four are also able to obtain funded places from the term after their third birthday.
The breakfast club, after school club and holiday clubs are also provided to ensure that children can have wrap-around care throughout the day.
Parents can also be assured that their children are having fun and taking part in exciting activities in a safe and stimulating rural environment.
All staff and volunteers have been Criminal Records Bureau checked and the charity has a comprehensive range of policies including child protection, special needs and equal opportunities.
