The Aims of the Kindergarten
We provide a safe, stimulating, caring, positive and happy environment for your child. At the kindergarten we consider every child as a unique individual. Our specially prepared environment assists each child to reach their maximum potential, at whatever level that might be. We prepare individual learning plans for each child and scaffold their develpoment accordingly so that the whole child is educated holistically. We promote positive learning experiences thereby creating in the child the enthusiasm, desire and quest for knowledge that remains with them throughout their school and adult life. Your childs happiness is paramount to us and is the key to successful learing.
Our policies procedures and curriculum are based on the Early Years and Foundation Stage themes and principles. The proprietor has a degree in Psyhcology and is currently undertaking further study at Anuglia Ruskin University to gain Early Years Professional Status qualification. All nurseries by 2010 will be required to have an Early Years Professional employed in the nursery.
Our curriculum
Numeracy
Number recognition, formation,counting skills, measurement, fractions and geometry are developed using the unique montessori equimpment.
Language
Reading, writing, speaking, listening and literature appreciaiton are developed using the unique Montessori equipment. Our reading scheme is phonetically based.
French
We have a native French speaking tutor who visits us to teacht the children elementary French conversation.
Knowledge and Understanding of the World
History - Basic prehistoric time line and an appreciation of time present and past.
Geography - The study of land water and weather.
Cultural Studies - The celebration of Festivals and Peoples of the World.
Science - Living things, earth and space, magnetism, light, air, water,gravitiy, sound, motion and electricity.
Environmental Studies - The world around us, nature and conservation.
Personal Social and Emotional
is encouraged through the care of self and others, the environment and social graces.
Sensorial
Focuses on improving observational skills, awareness and concentration levels.
Computer Skills
A simple introduction to mouse and keyboard skills using computer software designed for individual capabilities.
Physical Development
promoted through music and movement, drama and games.
Creative Development
Improves imagination and ability to communicate an express ideas and feelings through music, art, cookery and drama.

Opening Times: We are open on Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays all year except Christmas when we are closed for two weeks.
Opening times are:
Kindergarten Creche and Holiday Club
Morning session: 8.30am - 1.00pm
School Day session: 8.30am - 3.30pm
Creche is a minimum of 2 hours. Pre bookable or subject to availability.
Holiday Club is open during school holidays and is pre bookable or subject to availability.
